Owl Cafe Akiba Fukurou, Tokyo

The best, most amazing experience ever!!!! I'm so glad we got to go here. It was absolutely lovely and super cool. I do have to warn that it's not really a cafe as there's no food, but it's a place to see and have an amazing time with a whole bunch types of owls. You get to hold two owls of your choice and they take a professional picture and give it to you as a souvenir. Plus, you can take photos and make videos as much as you want as long as you don't use a flash. Also, we have to be as quiet as possible not to scare or disturb the owls.

You get to have about 2-3 owls stand on your arm during the time slot depending on availability. Of course you can freely walk around and take pictures of the owls on their perches prior to making a selection. Rules are set in place about which owls are available and how to gently pet/touch them in order to protect the owls. You even receive a professional style laminated photo card with the first owl you choose as part of the experience. Even watching other customers interact with the birds can be funny. They’re a bit groggy at first since the time slots are in the daytime when they would normally be asleep. Nonetheless they get a little more curious and energetic once they get picked up. Overall a fun experience to admire and interact with owls.
