Ring Peace Bell, and remember the lives lost when the bomb fell on Hiroshima on the 6th of August, 1945. A statement in favor of universal peace and a monument to all lives lost in wartime, the bell displays a map of the world with each country depicted as borderless, symbolizing togetherness, fraternity, and shared identity. Visitors can toll the bell and listen to the sound ring out around the surrounding park. Created in 1964 by Masahiko Katori, a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing, the bell stands as a powerful argument against nuclear weapons. Peace Bell is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , world travel planner Edition.

Located near the cenotaph. The peace Bell has a short line of people waiting to ring the bell for "peace" as the name implies. All an important part of the overall Hiroshima visit.

Ringing this bell is welcome. It has a beautiful, deep sound. It is the very bell that takes part in the ceremonies. It's located outside the optical axis of the Memorial Park and the Dome, but hitting it with a beam hanging there for this purpose is an experience. Hiroshima has many places that touch the soul, some a bit hidden. This is one of the most important. However, it should not be forgotten that nothing happened without what it had been preceded with.

This bell is for foreigners to ring as a show of solidarity in not allowing another devistating bomb to drop like it had here.
