Create an itinerary including Kintaikyo Bridge
Traverse the five arches of Kintaikyo Bridge, a historic wooden bridge that crosses the Nishiki River. The scenic bridge has been restored several times since its construction in 1673, but still retains its continuous arch shape and exhibits intricate wooden craftsmanship and details. Walk across the pedestrian-only bridge and stop along the way to enjoy the view of the river, overlooked by the towering Mount Yokoyama and Iwakuni castle perched on its top. • It is a beautiful 300+-year-old bridge spanning the Nishiki River at the foot of Iwakuni Castle. You can watch cormorant fishers in the evenings—an excellent place for a picnic.

  • So beautiful place . One of the best cherry blossom spots in Yamaguchi prefecture. The bridge is made of wood. Around 970 yen you get to go castle , crossing of bridge and ropeway. Cherry blossom season is recommended. The view was breathtaking but crowded. During spring and autumn, you have boat rides. There was also bridge and cherry blossom light up. There were also shops too , selling soft cream, fried potato, oysters etc . I think this is only for spring season. I recommend to go to this place in spring.
  • Beautiful bridge. Great architecture. We need to take bus from iwakuni station to reach here. Across the river there is beautiful park and can ride cable car to go to the top of mountain too Hiroshima station to Iwakuni station to kintai bridge.
