An oasis of calm in busy Kyoto. We lingered a while and really enjoyed it. Not very busy so it's possible to sit and relax and soak it all up. A beautiful Japanese house full of interest and charm...

The house is nicely preserved, but it’s very small and takes less than 10 minutes to see the place. On the plus side they did have a cute house cat. At 900 yen for entry, I thought it was not a good value and would skip it next time.

Impossible to know, from the street, what hide behind the small doors… A very well conserved house with a massive pottery work place. Numerous very nice pieces of Japanese old furnitures. Very quiet place, not too crowed Worth the fees you have to pay to get in.
