This place is a very small place where you are able to see and smell of the onsen. There nothing much to do there though but is an interesting place for people who never been to the onsen before.

Upon arriving at Noboribetsu Onsen, this is one of the first sights you will come across. I’d read about the geyser eruptions, but couldn’t quite figure out the ‘schedule’. My first visit at 9:10 am yielded a bit of fog, but nothing spectacular. I then went about my journey for the day. Alas, upon return at 10:50 am the geyser was in full eruption, loud guttural howls accompanied by impressive quantities of steam! Was oddly enjoyable to watch, you can get right in there without issue. Cute little statues also.

I stopped and rested in this nice little park after visiting Jigokudani. It has a nice geyser also. Close to everything!
