Wander along this restored historic canal, dating back to the early 20th century, to explore its many repurposed warehouses, which house restaurants, shops, and museums. One of the cleanest river that represents Japan and their culture. Most of the rivers in Asian countries are polluted and not in Japan. This is a very famous spot for this place. Most people would come and take photos here. Seeing the peaceful boats and river, you realize how much effort it takes to maintain their beautiful river compared with your own country in Asia. Japanese are amazing, again!
The Otaru Canal is a landmark of Otaru and a must go place when visiting Otaru. Walking along the river, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the river, and taking pictures, it is very freehand and a very pleasant experience.
