Walk through the open air museum of Historical Village of Hokkaido (Kaitaku-no Mura) to see a range of historical eras brought to life. Divided into four different sections--a town, a fishing village, a farming village, and a mountain village--the museum collects 60 different buildings from across the region to show the developments in architecture and lifestyle that have occurred since the mid-19th century. Take the horse-drawn trolley down the main street, stopping off to explore the old stone and wood buildings, decked out with artifacts, tools, and art related to a given period and placed in situ. Historical Village of Hokkaido (Kaitaku-no Mura) is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , custom trip planner Edition.

nice to visit, i think will be nice no matter what season. i went during winter si mostly all is white, maybe spring will be much better. entrance is ¥800, Hokkaido museum ¥600 which is nearby maybe less than 1km walk or can take bus too, can get package deal of ¥1200. the museum does not have much unless you really is interested in the Ainu people. the Village is so vast that you must get ready to walk a lot and if its sunny bring all your stuff to protect yourself. bus ride is ¥210
