The view is amazing from the top. The ropeway price is relatively steep at 2100 yen per pax for a return ticket. I do see people trekking up the hill but wouldn't recommend it for the usual tourist.

I feel a rule of thumb is to go to some sort of lookout type place to put yourself in perspective. Go on Dusk.

One of the best places we visited during our Sapporo trip! While the cable car was nice and all, I wish we had hiked all the way to the top but we were a bit pressed on time so we couldn’t. Either way, the view is amazing once you’re on top. We went during the Fall season so everything was even more beautiful! This place is really good for couples too since there’s love bell and love lock at the observation deck. Make sure to try the Hokkaido soft ice cream, it’s delicious It is best place for couple for the romance.

Fantastic views at night but only under clear conditions as I’m told. It was a little foggy and snowy during our visit so the views weren’t as spectacular but still worth the trip. The Bell of Happiness was another surprising highlight.
