  • Nice to see, but don’t make a trip to this part of town just for the clock tower. It’s surprisingly small and interesting to look at for about 30 seconds; not much beyond that.

  • A nice old clock tower with a cheap museum to walk through, very informative of the history of Sapporo and of the actual mechanization that keeps the clock ticking 140 years later. A tour guide that spoke English stopped and helped explain exhibits as we walked at our own pace with him. Great experience.
  • I went to the Sapporo Clock Tower with my toddler, and roamed around reading the history of Sapporo and this building while she slept. All of the exhibits have English as well, and is quite interesting to read! You can access the second floor by use of a priority elevator if you have a stroller or are in a wheelchair - just ask one of the staff to help you out. The volunteers there are also up for a chat if there’s something more you want to know about. A great little side journey for your afternoon!
