Sapporo St. Michael's Church reviews
-
This is the only architecture designed by Antonin Raymond (who was originally from Bohemia, working under Frank Lloyd Wright) in Hokkaido. It’s about one kilometer from Kita-Juhachijo station of Nanboku line subway in Sapporo. The beautiful decoration in the glass window was made with Washi paper. This is worth visiting!! 北海道で唯一のレイモンド建築です

The only church building in Hokkaido designed by Antonin Raymond. About 15 minutes on foot from Kita 18-jo Station on the subway Namboku Line. The diagonally intersecting beams are unique and beautiful. Although it was built in 1960, it is in very good condition and you can see that it has been used with great care. It's proof that good architecture is not just about function, but that it's important that the design continues to be loved by people.
