At Musee Art Nouveau, see how residential houses looked at the beginning of the 20th century. Famous Latvian architect Konstantīns Pēkšēns, the former resident of the Art Nouveau house, is chiefly responsible for its interior design. Climb the spiral staircase, and be sure to look up at the ornamental ceiling paintings. You'll get a feel for some of the affluence of the time and learn more about the famous architect. Great museum, fascinating insight into the art nouveau scene. Staff were very informative and helpful. The apartment is beautiful.

The museum has two parts: one is the interactive exposition and another – the authentic Art Noveau style apartment. The exposition is quite unimpressive. It's interactive and all but in general, a nice booklet with all the information or a phone app could do the work pretty well. The apartment is very nice but on itself might not feel like it's worth 9 euros. I don't regret going there but I would have enjoyed it significantly better if I could pay a bit less, visit an apartment and have a nice app to tell me what is where in it, and then have all the information about the buildings as I go and can see them in the city. Worth a visit if you are interested in design and architecture.

The center does not have its own building and is only a small part of a bigger one. The center consists of two stories and is smaller than we expected. The underground floor is the interactive part, where you can watch a few documentaries and play some games. On the ground floor you will find the art nouveau apartment which is a very beautiful time capsule and displays multiple rooms. Without a guide, the visit will take you less than an hour and you can but tickets at the counter.
