At Riga Cathedral, see the famous Dome organ--the largest organ in the world at the time of its construction in the late 19th century. Bishop Albert of Riga built the church in the 13th century as archbishop's seat. The rooster on the top of the Baroque clock tower is a guardian of the Christian faith. The largest medieval church in the Baltic states, its appearance has changed many times. Walk around the cloisters to see the original foundations. The church also serves as a concert hall and showcases internationally renowned choirs. • A simple, quite empty church with a beautiful and huge organ and a couple of nice wood sculptures. The associated cloister is terrible: dilapidated and with a few artifacts (canons (!), stones...

  • Enormous Lutheran cathedral with altar based in the centre. The entrance costs 5 euros but I strongly advise to visit on Saturday at 12 due to organ concert which has place here (10 euros for 20 minutes, but visiting cathedral is included). COVID pass is required.
  • The main hall looks okay. The arched roofs are nothing special, if you have traveled anywhere they made arched roofs back in the time. The organ looks intricate and beautiful. We are not into music, but we listened to the concert which sounded nice. There are some good looking paintings on the tainted glass windows. Inside, there is a verandah with relics of the old building, most of which are badly preserved. The people at the Ticket window were extremely nice and warm.
