St. Peter's Church represents one of the oldest and most valuable monuments of medieval architecture in the Baltic states. This Lutheran church, part of the Old Town's historic center, is listed as a World Heritage Site. Nazi Germans bombed the church during World War II, and the Soviets completed the destruction after the war. It wasn't rebuilt until 1983. The church hall houses exhibits and concerts, and the observation deck at the top of the tower offers a view of the entire city. • Quite typical representation of the period and well maintained. Its amazing how much effort had to be exerted to construct these massive structures without the machinery of today.

  • It is 3 flights of stairs and then an elevator to get to the viewing platform which does give you the best central view of the old town. The Academy of Science building also gives you a great city...

  • Stunningly elegant church set in the middle of Old Riga. Nice setting and a lovely part of town. Beautiful bell tower and we are just musing whether to pay the €7 fee for the view or not?🧐. Nice interior but not the grandest/historical of churches I’ve seen. Stiff competition in Europe in this category. However we’ll worth a visit.
  • Beautiful view from the clocktower! The church itself was pretty simple, the oldness of it was attractive, but otherwise nothing too special, which is why not 5 stars. But I think the observation deck is definitely worth the visit, incredibly windy this time of year, but it's a lovely way to enjoy Riga from above.
