The newly renovated museum is excellent, just as our English-language guide. He really brought the sad story of 50 years of occupation of Latvia to life in an engaging, and sometimes even quite humouristic, way. It would have been nice if I had reserved an hour more after the guided tour in my plan, in order to investigate the exhibits on my own. Be sure to also visit a guided tour to the KGB headquarters, The Corner House, which is in a different place, about half an hour by foot away.
