One of the oldest tourist attractions in Latvia, Gutman's Cave, dates back to the 17th century and features inscriptions carved into the walls. The 10 m (33 ft) high and 12 m (39 ft) wide geological formation is reputed to be the tallest and widest grotto in the Baltics. Take a guided tour of the cave to see the inscriptions that were once ordered by rich citizens and later engraved by tourists, many depicting tales of love and death.     The cave was fine nothing massive or awe inspiring but on a day out around Sigulda and Guaja Park its worth 15 minutes out of you way to have a look. We were there in December and I think the snow...

    I had assumed that the cave went into the hillside more, but it was very shallow. It is worth a visit, but don’t expect to be going underground. The story behind the cave is interesting.
