Create an itinerary including Boudhanath Stupa
One of the largest and most important structures of its kind in the country, Boudhanath Stupa holds a spot on the World Heritage List and serves as an icon of the city. Pay a visit to this holy site and you'll find it an epicenter of Tibetan Buddhism in the region, as the complex features a number of monasteries around it. Marvel at the stupa's massive base, topped with a sizable dome and a towering manadala, the golden triangular spire at the top. You can also admire the colorful statues around the dome and the tower's mysterious painted-on eyes. Rumor has it that circling the stupa can help to free you from your sins. The devastating earthquake in April of 2015 severely damaged the structure, causing the removal of the entire top portion and calling for a massive reconstruction project. • This place is easily accessible for tourists and getting there is hassle-free. I enjoyed the people and the culture immensely, but I would advise caution around the faithful who circle the monument.

  • Huge temple in the middle with shops outlining the walkway around. Super friendly shops and no high pressure sales like many other areas. Not being Hindu, it's hard to review this historic site. You are not allowed to take pictures inside. Most pigeons, I have ever seen.
  • It was a great, beautiful, historic & religious place. One of the most visited place. Crowded by visitors from all around the world. The view point will amaze you with beautiful scenic of Kathmandu city. Local vendors are available for snacks. If you're fond of Jewelries (Accessories) then you'll be a happy customer there. Saw many monkeys.
