Trekkers and nature lovers flock to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, a lush national park that boasts multiple hiking trails of various levels of difficulty. Only 12 km (7.4 mi) from Kathmandu, the expansive park feels like a different world, inhabited by leopards, rhesus monkeys, and Himalayan black bears, and home to a Buddhist monastery. The park also contains Shivapuri Peak; climb up the mountain's hundreds of steps to see panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley. The trails are well marked and maintained, with maps displayed near the entrance to the park; take a picture of one to bring with you and guide your hike. Best place for hiking, totally different than other places. This is absolutely inside jungle and rivers. The waterfall you'll see just after getting inside and the whole way. You'll have river by your side. That's mesmerising. I recommend to go with groups of friends.

One of the best place for hike lovers. Personally for me it's number 1 among near hiking places in Kathmandu. Needs tickets for entering the national park but you can avoid that by taking the tarebhir route but for first timers I recommend the main gate cause it's much safer and not confusing.
