  • This is free and worth having a look. Spread over two floors, There is plenty to see and lots of information to read about cable cars and the history. There is a little gift shop with NZ gifts.

  • Free exhibit that has an old cable car to view and touch. Goes over the history of the cable car a little. Some unique souvenirs in the gift shop adjacent. As a tourist it was interesting to learn about the history. After the cable car ride up, I was able to visit the museum, take in the surrounding view, and then take the next car down with my return ticket. Overall a very economical stop to make.
  • Nice little museum and gift shop. Explained why and how the Trolley/Funicular were built, how Wellington is home to the most private trolleys in the world and other interesting facts. When we visited (04NOV22) tickets were NZ$5 one way or NZ$9 round trip. Once you reach the top, the walk down is listed as 35 min. Some areas are steep or have uneven stairs so if you have difficulty walking you may consider a round trip ticket.
