We came across this by chance and enjoyed the tour, watching the women grind wheat and coffee, cook bread and knead beans. The coffee and dates were fab and the old wizened guy entertained us.

The museum lies amidst old clay brick houses. We got an excellent tour through the premises. You can see how Omani families lived hundreds of years ago. From the roof, you have a great view over the quarter with its clay brick ruins and date palm plantations. Don't miss this when you're in Oman!

Amazing museum! The old town was abandoned 40 years ago. Walk the deserted streets, but make sure to stop here for authentic experience!
