Nature and man-made infrastructure harmoniously coexist at Wadi Dayqah Dam, which provides much of the region's drinking water. Completed in 2012, the dam collects vast amounts of the mountain rainfall, controlling the flow of water to the distant villages below. Take a picnic and sit in the lush parkland by the 8 km (5 mi) reservoir, which boasts a capacity of 100 million cu m (3.5 billion cu ft) of fresh rainwater. Drive to the 75 m (246 ft) heights of the dam for a scenic view of the surrounding amber limestone mountains and valleys. Using our international travel planner, Qurayyat attractions like Wadi Dayqah Dam can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

We came to the dam just as a place to have lunch. It is a beautiful park and there are picnic tables, and bathrooms. It is an excellent place to stop and have lunch. We continued down to the wadi below the dam to explore a little. We were tired form our previous hike that morning but it would be a nice place to hike around for an hour or two - DO NOT listen to Google maps it takes you to the service section of the dam (BAD IDEA)- you have to navigate our our own.

Great place for family weekend getaway. We came in the morning, water sport open at 10, wish they started earlier. Wonderful view, nice park, big parking, and decent facilities available. Smooth drive from Muscat, highly recommended.
