  • Amazing peak you really want to see. I went 3 times and never saw it properly open but I managed to see a bit of the view and covered in snow which was magnificent. I reached it from two different way: the easy and short walk from Achada de Teixeira and the longer hike from pico Areeiro. Both walks are great depending on your level of fitness. If you can, I'd say it's worth it to hike from Pico Aereeiro and ending up in Achada do Teixeira but be aware the way is long and is just stairs. The landscape is incredibly beautiful but the walk itself is not really enjoyable (a lot of artificial metal ladders to climb). If I had more time I would have gone again and again to enjoy it in different weather conditions. The first time I went I saw an amazing fog bow (which I didn't even know it existed) that made the hike worth it 100%
  • This is one of the must-see places on this island. Walking along well-made mountain paths you will see unforgettable views of beautiful mountains and valleys. It is like walking in and above the clouds.
