this museum seems to have great potential and what remains is interesting and informative , the artifacts are authentic , however the gardens left much to be desired - much of the museum was closed..... more

The museum is under renovation so you can only visit the free gardens. The velodrome behind is fun to take pictures in but if you are looking for art you might be disappointed

I thought this museum was great. All the employees were very nice and friendly. The man selling the tickets explained to everyone that the main part of the museum in under construction. Still for €3 you can see multiple rooms, outside lapidarium and a pretty garden they have there. Yes, everything is in Portuguese but they have english paper guides. I got one from one of the employees without even asking (he must have thought I looked confused:)) I would recommend going.

The museum had 4 parts, first a Jesus room with loads of art that I'm so sick of seeing again and again and again ... 1/10 rated Second room upstairs was uninteresting.... 1/10 rated Then downstairs, you can walk through the back to a garden and a different part.of the building with some modern art which looked like student drawings, and experimental photography... 3/10 rated and part of the same exhibition there was another room which was my favourite, with typical Portuguese landscapes, oil paintings, very beautiful though the frames looked cheap. The art here was my favourite, they should move this art in the main room at the entrance!! 10/10 rated There is a second garden which is right at the very back with some random sculptures, a dead space and a security guard following us around like a creep. That was weird!
