We went in for a visit and it cost the grand sum of 1.5euro for the over 65's. It was amazing inside. It was a headland which you could walk round and could see the waves pounding against the cliffs..... more

For us this was a very cool and reasonably quick stop. The main part of the fort was closed the day were there and most people stopped quick, walked in the western door to the cliffs and looked...

There is parking outside the fort and it is a short distance from Cape St Vincent and Sagres. You can't go inside the fort itself due to erosion but you can walk around the walls and take in views of the coast. The fort itself is a sixteenth century construction, expanded from the earlier buildings damaged by Sir Francis Drake.
