Create an itinerary including Praia da ursa
View a beach of spectacular natural beauty at Praia da ursa, where thousands of years of the Atlantic's wind and waves have carved the rocks and cliffs into interesting shapes, including a huge stone in the form of a bear. Located in the Natural Park of Sintra, this piece of shoreline--Europe's westernmost beach--can be difficult to access due to the steep, rocky hill leading down to it. Once at the bottom, explore the sandy shore and blue, albeit cold, waters. Nudists favor this attraction for its hard-to-reach location. Consider delaying your visit if the weather is rainy, because the climb becomes too slippery to travel here safely. • If you don't mind hiking, then do it. The views are worth it, even if you don't make it down to the beach, just take a walk to the clifs' edge above. Just a short way down from Cabo da Roca, kill...

  • What a stunning place! This is one of the top views in Portugal, a stunning beach with a very unique landscape! It's in the west area, so be mindful of weather, might not be always amazing! But its totally worth the detour and is just next to cabo da roca. You can do the small hike and go down to the beach. Its really really nice! Totally worth it.
  • What a lovely place! Yes, from the parking lot, you have to go downhill for about 20 minutes and at some places it’s slippery and you have to use your hands to balance. But on the way, you also have some nice spots to view the Cabo da Roca, the beach itself and its surrounding cliffs. We did the trail with our 5 years old daughter without any problems. But if you have baby buggy with you, better skip it. The beach itself isn’t very small and thanks to the 20 minute walk, it’s also not very crowded. We also saw visitors with surf board and big sunshades there, hats off! Beside the beach, you can also walk a little to explore the hidden bay or climb the cliff. Near the cliff there is also shade in place. Going uphill is of course stressful, but somehow easier that going downhill. We stayed at the beach for about 3 to 4 hours and enjoyed every moment. The last advice, treat yourself well and don’t wear slippers to get there!
