The museum expands on the connections between Dr Sun Yat Sen, who headed the 1911 Chinese Revolution, and Singapore with artefacts, artworks and multimedia exhibits. The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall is dedicated to Dr Sun Yat Sen, who headed the 1911 Chinese Revolution that eventually led to the downfall of the Qing Dynasty. Not many know that Singapore served as a hub for his revolutionary activities in Southeast Asia. The two-storey colonial-style villa that currently houses the museum was once the regional headquarters of the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance. The museum expands on the connections between Dr Sun and Singapore in five galleries with artefacts, artworks and multimedia exhibits. To visit Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall on your trip to Singapore, use our Singapore trip itinerary planning app.

My university friends & I enjoyed visiting Dr. Sun Yat Sen's memorial hall! I was completely unaware of Dr. Sun prior to the visit as I do not recall him being taught during history classes in secondary school (yes, my history knowledge stopped at secondary school) and thus visiting such memorial hall made us learn about someone's life who had made a significant contribution to where Singapore is today. It is a free-of-charge entrance to Singaporeans, so so drop by if you're in Novena!
