Honiara Central Market
A bustling labyrinth of interesting flavors and sights, Honiara Central Market offers tourists a rare and authentic glimpse into Melanesian culture. Here you can browse through a wide range of local produce including exotic fruit, rows of gigantic, freshly caught tuna fish, and intricate arrays of the Solomon Islands' famed shell jewelry. Mostly sourced from the surrounding villages, these goods sell at very reasonable prices, and it is not customary to haggle. Bring plenty of small notes, keep one eye out for pickpockets, and bear in mind that no toilet facilities exist on site. So i rated it average mostly because of the cleanliness of the market. Apart from that, this is the best place to get good value handicrafts and clothes at affordable prices

From all the shops around Solomon island you can't afford to miss out on this ever busy local market. Only have 1 picture cause it's that busy🤣 If you go in from the front, 1st row to the middle row you have tonnes of fresh veggies filled the whole market🤯 From the outside on the left and right, has tonnes of fresh water melon, taro, coconut juice, potatoes etc🥰 Past middle row to the back row are local coconut oils, handmade necklaces, bracelets and local foods. From the outside left and right, past middle rows (outside) are for the exclusives huge local whole chicken, mud crabs, lobsters, land crabs and coconut crabs at such down low prices (compared to hotels and restaurants) If you see them that day, buy them cause you won't get a chance tomorrow or a whole week😂 Right at the back from left, middle and right are the fish market area for all sorts of fish from groupers, skipjacks etc. Here's a tip for spotting fresh fishes: if you see a the eyes of any fish broken and torn, "DO NOT BUY" it. That fish will probably be very old and will taste bad🍻

All manner of local products can be found here.. Local produce, fruits, handicrafts, herbal oils/lotions, coconut products, etc.. local artists also sell their wares here. Very talented folks. Exquisite carvings and headhunter figures carved from ebony are some of the cool stuffs you can find here for a reasonable price.. Dont hesitate to bargain if you're good at it.
