5.18 Memorial Park, Gwangju

I was walking on the trails here in this magnificent, somewhat small urban park when it occurred to me that I hope a park like this is in my future when I can't travel like I do anymore. There were other older people circling the park on the well maintained trails, stopping at outdoor exercise equipment, chatting with each other, and maybe even going to the beautiful Mugagsa Temple on it's edge for some prayer and meditation like I did. Yeah, when I get closer to the age of most of the people I saw here are, I really want to be here with them.

A compact sized park in the Sangmu region of Gwangju. Good for workouts: there is a small area with different kinds of gym equipment. In the middle of the park, there are a couple of observatory-style temples where one can have good views on the surrounding regions if the day clear. Prepare for long stairs and upward slopes!
