Discover South Korea’s traditions and culture at Korean Folk Village, a replica of a typical village and a living museum. Mingle with historic characters as you wander around the village, observe the workers demonstrating their crafts and woodworking techniques, and admire a variety of buildings that showcase how different social classes lived. You can enjoy performances twice a day, ranging from horseback and martial arts shows, to a traditional wedding ritual. A street market offer plenty of local dishes, while the village also contains amusement park rides and an art museum. Elementary kids and I had a good time here. A lot to see and do. We went on a weekday morning and the place was pretty empty which was nice. Mid-day parade with music and dances was nice. They have some small scale amusement park rides, too. I took away a star because we paid for a smelt experience but there obviously weren't any smelt in the pond. No one out of a dozen groups of people had seen any smelt that day for an hour we were there. I had to leave by 3:30pm so I actually didn't have time to see a lot. Plan it to be a whole day trip or even 2. They have lots of events and performances spread out through the day. I wish there was someone who helps plan the day. I also could have used some sort of guide throughout the park.

I loved this place. I went on a Wednesday and it was almost empty, making the atmosphere so peaceful. It really felt like being back in the olden days. I can imagine it wouldn't be quite so charming if I'd gone on a weekend or public holiday... The performers were wonderful. The girls danced beautifully and you can tell the guys are all friends and have fun egging each other on during the performances. My only dislike was that there is a cow tied up in a small stall. Cows are social creatures and need to be in a herd, with pastures to graze on. She didn't have any food (other than a small amount of hay on the floor that had been soiled) or water, and was just tied up in there, in her own muck. She looked extremely forlorn and her presence is completely unnecessary.
