Ascend Paradise Peak for panoramic views of the entire island as well as the surrounding turquoise ocean. The highest point on Saint Martin, it rises to 426 m (1,400 ft). From there, you can look out over the city skyline, lush tropical forest, and pristine ocean bays. A number of trails lead off from the peak for further exploration. Drive or take a bus to the plantation at the foot of the mountain, and hike up from there. Note that the uphill trek may pose a challenge to those with low fitness or walking ability; wear sturdy boots and bring plenty of water. Definitely not an easy hike, but not extremely difficult. Overall, an amazing experience. My husband and I even saw some monkeys! And the views from the summit can't be beat.
