Traveling by car from Sapporo to Asahikawa takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train; or take a bus. In March, daily temperatures in Asahikawa can reach 0°C, while at night they dip to -1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Tue) so you can drive to Noboribetsu.

Perhaps the island's best-known hot spring resort, Noboribetsu has a long history of tourism.

Start off your visit on the 15th (Wed): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Muroran Hachimangu Shrine, look for all kinds of wild species at Kiushito Wetland, then meet the residents at Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, then take in the dramatic natural features at Jigokudani, and finally indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas.

Drive from Asahikawa to Noboribetsu in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Asahikawa in March, you will find days in Noboribetsu are somewhat warmer (6°C), and nights are about the same (0°C). Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Wed) so you can go by car to Kutchan-cho.

Kutchan-cho's reputation rests on two things: skiing and potatoes.

On the 16th (Thu), hit the slopes at Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU and then indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas. On your second day here, explore the activities along Mt. A gateway to the island, Hakodate has gained a reputation for its waterfront attractions, its proximity to some of the island's most popular natural sites, and its seafood.

Traveling from Kutchan-cho in March, expect nights in Hakodate to be about the same, around -1°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 5°C.
