Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.

Bring the kids along to Jurmala Beach and Old City Riga (Vecriga). The adventure continues: pause for some photo ops at Freedom Monument, browse the eclectic array of goods at Central Market (Centraltirgus), enjoy breathtaking views from View of Riga from St Peter's Church Tower, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Peter's Church.

Tel Aviv, Israel to Riga is an approximately 8-hour flight. When traveling from Tel Aviv in August, plan for slightly colder days and much colder nights in Riga: temperatures range from 26°C by day to 16°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Fri) to allow time to drive to Cesis.

Cēsis, is a town in Latvia located in the northern part of the Central Vidzeme Upland. Kids will enjoy Gauja National Park and Cesis Medieval Castle. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cesis: Nature Museum Environment Labyrinth (in Aluksne), Saulkrasti Beach (in Saulkrasti) and Sigulda (Turaida Castle, Gutman's Cave, &more). There's lots more to do: deepen your knowledge of military history at The Secret Soviet Bunker, make a trip to Araisi Lake Dwelling Site, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Raksi Park, and stroll around May Park.

You can drive from Riga to Cesis in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. In August in Cesis, expect temperatures between 25°C during the day and 15°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Tue) early enough to travel to Pilsrundale.

Kick off your visit on the 17th (Wed): get engrossed in the history at Rundāle Palace.

You can drive from Cesis to Pilsrundale in 2.5 hours. In August, plan for daily highs up to 26°C, and evening lows to 15°C. On the 17th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
