One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Head to Myeongdong Shopping Street and Namdaemun Marketfor plenty of shopping. Museum-lovers will get to explore Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Folk Museum of Korea. Step out of Seoul to go to Paju and see DMZ Haemaru Village, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. Next up on the itinerary: wander the streets of Insadong, admire the striking features of Changdeokgung Palace, learn about all things military at The War Memorial of Korea, and explore the activities along Cheonggyecheon Stream.

If you are flying in from Singapore, the closest major aiports are Gimpo International Airport, Incheon International Airport and Osan Air Base. In December in Seoul, expect temperatures between 3°C during the day and -5°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Fri) early enough to catch the flight to Jeju.

Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Appreciate the collections at O’sulloc Tea Museum and Arario Museum Tapdong Cinema. Jeju National Museum and Teddy Bear Museum Jeju are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Jeju's surroundings by going to Seogwipo (Seongsan Ilchulbong & Halla Mountain). There's much more to do: explore the fascinating underground world of Manjanggul Cave, browse the eclectic array of goods at Dongmun Market, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Saebyeol Oreum, and go for a walk through Handam Coastal Trail.

Traveling by flight from Seoul to Jeju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry; or do a combination of car and ferry.
