One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.Your inner history buff will appreciate Hwaseong Fortress and Hwahongmun Gate. Shop till you drop at Kwangjang Market and Seoul Daehangno. Change things up with these side-trips from Seoul: Saneum Natural Recreation Forest (in Yangpyeong-gun), Suwon (Hwaseong Haenggung Palace & Suwon Jeil Church) and Korean Folk Village (in Yongin). Spend the 14th (Tue) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Jakarta, Indonesia to Seoul is an approximately 10-hour flight. You'll lose 2 hours traveling from Jakarta to Seoul due to the time zone difference. The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.Start off your visit on the 17th (Fri): snap pictures at Busandaegyo Bridge, wander the streets of Busan Gamcheon Culture Village, then walk around Yongdusan Park, then head outdoors with Gwangalli Beach, and finally see the interesting displays at Busan Museum. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Beomeosa Temple, take an in-depth tour of Bokcheon Museum, kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Haedong Yonggungsa, and finally get a taste of the local shopping with MUSEUM 1.
