Pyeongchang-gun — 2 nights

A northern county in the Taebeak Mountain region of South Korea, Pyeongchang offers a plethora of year-round alpine resorts.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sat): head outdoors with Phoenix Snow Park and then kick your exploration up a notch at Byeongbangchi Skywalk. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 18th (Sun): take in the spiritual surroundings of Woljeongsa Temple and then cool off at Ocean 700.

Seoul to Pyeongchang-gun is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of train and taxi; or take a bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Mon) so you can take a train to Gangneung.

Gangneung — 2 nights

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
On the 19th (Mon), see the interesting displays at Ojukheon, then take a stroll through Chodang Sundubu Village, and then kick back and relax at Jeongdongjin Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 20th (Tue): get outside with Gyeongpo Beach, steep yourself in history at Gyeongpodae, then engage your brain at Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum, and finally contemplate the long history of Gangneung Seongyojang.

You can take a train from Pyeongchang-gun to Gangneung in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Wed) early enough to fly to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Wed): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Seokguram, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, then appreciate the history behind Daereungwon Tomb Complex, and finally contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb. On the 22nd (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: steep yourself in history at Gyeongju Historic Area, then contemplate the long history of Cheomseongdae Observatory, then explore the activities along Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and finally see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum.

Busan — 2 nights

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Fri): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Beomeosa Temple, get outside with Haeundae Beach, and then take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge. On your second day here, tour the pleasant surroundings at Yongdusan Park, then get great views at Taejongdae, then tour the pleasant surroundings at UN Memorial Cemetery, and finally kick back and relax at Gwangalli Beach.

Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Gyeongju in December: highs in Busan hover around 10°C, while lows dip to 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 25th (Sun) so you can fly to Incheon.

Incheon — 2 nights

The third-largest city in the country, Incheon combines history and culture in an interesting whole.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Sun): don't miss a visit to Chinatown and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Jeondeungsa Temple. On the 26th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get engrossed in the history at Gachon Museum, head off the coast to Wolmido, then take in the views from Incheon Bridge, and finally stroll around Songdo Central Park.

You can fly from Busan to Incheon in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and subway. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Busan in December: high temperatures in Incheon hover around 3°C and lows are around -3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Seoul.
