Gateway to the Highlands
Step out of the city life by going to The Falls of Foyers and Loch Garten Nature Reserve. Clava Cairns and Cawdor Castle will appeal to history buffs. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Inverness: Loch an Eilein (in Aviemore) and Cairngorm Reindeer Centre (in Glenmore). There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, steep yourself in history at Fort George, contemplate the waterfront views at River Ness, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Loch Ness.
