One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
For shopping fun, head to Myeongdong Shopping Street or Namdaemun Market. Get some historical perspective at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
On the 17th (Fri), kick back and relax at Haeundae Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Songdo Beach, and then hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 18th (Sat): enjoy the sand and surf at Gwangalli Beach, then take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge, and then head outdoors with Songjeong Beach.

Traveling by flight from Seoul to Busan takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. In March, daytime highs in Busan are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight to Jeju.

Jeju — 7 nights

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Hamdeok Beach and Gwakji Gwamul Beach. Get some historical perspective at Gwaneumsa Temple and Bulsari Tapsa Temple. Get out of town with these interesting Jeju side-trips: Seogwipo (Halla Mountain, O’sulloc Tea Museum, &more). Spend the 25th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Next up on the itinerary: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, browse the eclectic array of goods at Dongmun Market, explore the world behind art at Jeju Folk Museum, and enjoy the sand and surf at Samyang Black Sand Beach.

You can fly from Busan to Jeju in 2.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sun) so you can catch the flight back home.
