The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Busan is known for sightseeing, beaches, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, take an in-depth tour of Bokcheon Museum, get outside with Gwangalli Beach, and browse the eclectic array of goods at Jagalchi Market.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Busan in January, expect nights in Gyeongju to be about the same, around 0°C, while days are little chillier, around 1°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sun) to allow time to fly to Jeju.

Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Jeju: Seogwipo (O’sulloc Tea Museum, Seongsan Ilchulbong, &more). Next up on the itinerary: stroll around Hallim Park, head off the coast to Udo, sample the tasty concoctions at Jeju Beer, and hike along Jeju Olle Trail Routes.
