Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.
Bring the kids along to Old City Riga (Vecriga) and Latvijas Okupācijas muzejs. Venture out of the city with trips to Kemeri National Park (in Jurmala) and Salaspils Memorial Ensemble (in Salaspils). There's still lots to do: pause for some photo ops at Freedom Monument, admire the striking features of House Of The Black Heads, tour the pleasant surroundings at Jurmala Beach, and examine the collection at Riga Motormuseum.

Attractions like Children Park Fantaziya and Ventspils South Pier make great kid-friendly stops. Take a break from Ventspils with a short trip to Irbene Radio Astronomy Center in Irbene, about 30 minutes away.
