Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Swinging Gate Vineyard and Loira Vines. Step out of Launceston with an excursion to Platypus House in Beauty Point--about 48 minutes away. Dedicate the 19th (Sun) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area.
