In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Waikiki Beach and Kapiolani Regional Park. Take a break from the city and head to Diamond Head State Monument and Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Step out of Honolulu with an excursion to Swim with Dolphins in Waianae--about 56 minutes away. The adventure continues: explore the different monuments and memorials at USS Arizona Memorial and see the interesting displays at USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park.
