One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seoul: MMCA - National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (in Gwacheon), Korean Folk Village (in Yongin) and Hwaseong Fortress (in Suwon). Pack the 10th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Lotte World. Spend the 18th (Wed) exploring nature at Bukhansan National Park. There's much more to do: take an in-depth tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace, admire the landmark architecture of Changdeokgung Palace, steep yourself in history at Jongmyo Shrine, and admire the natural beauty at Namsan Park.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Explore Busan's surroundings by going to Oedo Botania (in Geoje) and Dongpirang Mural Village (in Tongyeong). There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, take in the spiritual surroundings of Haedong Yonggungsa, make a trip to Seokbulsa Temple, and take in the views from Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
