The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Busan is known for sightseeing, beaches, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, get great views at Taejongdae, observe the fascinating underwater world at SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium, and hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
On the 11th (Sun), examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum and then explore the activities along Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate the long history of Bulguksa Temple and then pause for some photo ops at Seokguram.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Busan in June, plan for a bit cooler days in Gyeongju, with highs around 23°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Mon) to allow enough time to fly to Jeju.

Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Get out of town with these interesting Jeju side-trips: Seogwipo (Halla Mountain, Cheonjiyeon Falls, &more). And it doesn't end there: Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, head outdoors with Hamdeok Beach, admire the masterpieces at Jeju Folk Museum, and take in nature's colorful creations at Hallim Park.

Traveling by flight from Gyeongju to Jeju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, taxi, and ferry. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Cheongju.

Cheongju is the capital and largest city of North Chungcheong Province in South Korea.HistoryCheongju has been an important provincial town since ancient times.During Hideyoshi's Invasions of Korea, Cheongju was the site of the Battle of Chongju, during which the Korean forces re-took the city from the Japanese forces in an important early victory.The government of the province relocated here from Chungju in 1908.The opening of the Chungbuk-line in 1926 sparked regional development. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cheongju: Songnisan National Park (in Boeun-gun) and Anseong Namsadang Training Center (in Anseong). Next up on the itinerary: go for a walk through Sangdangsanseong Fortress, contemplate the long history of Cheongnamdae, and take an in-depth tour of Cheongju National Museum.

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.

Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 28th (Wed): admire the natural beauty at Jade Garden Natural Arboretum, step off the mainland to explore Nami Island, and then stroll around Kalbongsan Recreational Forest.
