The allure of the beaches and the town's historical center draw visitors to Lagos, a coastal destination in the Barlavento region of the Algarve.Get some cultural insight at Lagos Farol da Ponta da Piedade and Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Encarnacao. Museum-lovers will get to explore Antigo Mercado de Escravos and Museu de Portimao. Step out of Lagos to go to Carvoeiro and see Carvoeiro Boardwalk, which is approximately 44 minutes away. There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Museu Municipal Dr. Jose Formosinho and pause for some photo ops at Statue of Infante Dom Henrique.
