Venture out of the city with trips to Juwangsan National Park (in Cheongsong-gun), Ulsan Daegok Museum (in Ulsan) and Daegu (Gukchaebosang Memorial Park, Seomun Market, &more). There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, contemplate the waterfront views at Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, appreciate the history behind Royal Tomb of King Jinpyeong, and make a splash at Gyeongju California Beach Water Park.

You can drive from Busan to Gyeongju in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Busan in August, you will find days in Gyeongju are little chillier (26°C), and nights are about the same (26°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Thu) to allow enough time to take a train to Daejeon.
