Yongin is just a short distance from Suwon. In December, daytime highs in Yongin are 3°C, while nighttime lows are -5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Gangneung.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.

Kick off your visit on the 29th (Thu): make a trip to Gangneung Dano Munhwagwan, get outside with Sacheonjin Beach, and then browse the eclectic array of goods at Gangneung Jungang Market. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to Namae Port, enjoy the sea views from Jumunjin Lighthouse, and then take an in-depth tour of Heogyun and Heonanseolheon Memorial Hall.

Getting from Yongin to Gangneung by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Fri) so you can travel back home.
