Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Museum of Old and New Art (Mona). On the 2nd (Mon), explore the world behind art at Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), enjoy the sand and surf at Kingston Beach, look for all kinds of wild species at Raptor Refuge, then take an in-depth tour of Channel Museum, and finally delve into the lush surroundings at Myrtle Forest.

In January, Hobart is slightly colder than Sydney - with highs of 26°C and lows of 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue) early enough to drive to Launceston.
