Busan — 6 nights

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Visiting Haeundae Beach and Gwangalli Beach will get you outdoors. Change things up with a short trip to Beopgi Fountainhead in Yangsan (about 48 minutes away). There's still lots to do: take some stellar pictures from Taejongdae, meet the residents at SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and get engrossed in the history at Bokcheon Museum.

Buffalo, USA to Busan is an approximately 21-hour flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Buffalo to Busan is 14 hours. Plan for somewhat warmer nights when traveling from Buffalo in July since evenings lows in Busan dip to 73°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Gyeongju.

Museum Without Walls

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Step out of the city life by going to Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond and Jujeon Mongdol Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Gyeongju: Ulsan (Ilsan Beach & Jeongja Beach), Yeongildae Beach (in Pohang) and Daegu (Hyundai Department Store Daegu, Cheongna Hill, &more). Island of the Gods

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
Visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong and Halla Mountain will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Seogwipo (Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff, Jeongbang Waterfall, &more). Spend the 17th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Hamdeok Beach, head outdoors with Gwakji Gwamul Beach, Head underground at Manjanggul Cave, and take in nature's colorful creations at Hallim Park.

Capital City of Korean Spiritual Culture

Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.
Get in touch with nature at Juwangsan National Park and Gosu Cave. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Andong: Yeongju (Museom Village & Seonbichon Village) and Yangbaek Waterfall (in Danyang-gun). Chuncheon — 3 nights

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.
Step out of the city life by going to Nami Island and World Oncheon. Venture out of the city with trips to Vivaldi Park Ocean World (in Hongcheon-gun) and Petite France (in Gapyeong-gun).
