Port Arthur — 1 night

Surrounded by shark-infested waters and connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus of land, Port Arthur ranks among Australia's top historical sites and heritage areas.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Wed): get engrossed in the history at Eaglehawk Neck Historic Site, pause for some photo ops at Dog Line, tour the pleasant surroundings at Tessellated Pavement, then take in the dramatic natural features at Tasmans Arch, and finally don't miss a visit to Australian Convict Sites. On your second day here, hike along Three Capes Track, then steep yourself in history at Government Cottage, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Cape Raoul.

Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Fri): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. David's Cathedral, then take in the spiritual surroundings of St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, then enjoy the sand and surf at Seven Mile Beach, and finally take a stroll through North Hobart.
