One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.

Take a break from Seoul with a short trip to DMZ Haemaru Village in Paju, about 1h 25 min away. Pack the 19th (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Lotte World. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace, get a taste of the local shopping with Namdaemun Market, visit Myeongdong Shopping Street, and make a trip to Insadong.

New Delhi, India to Seoul is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 3.5 hours traveling from New Delhi to Seoul. Expect colder temperatures when traveling from New Delhi in April; daily highs in Seoul reach 20°C and lows reach 9°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Chuncheon.

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.

Venture out of the city with trips to Daegwallyeong Agi Mokjang (in Pyeongchang-gun), Guryongsa Temple (in Wonju) and Homyeong Lake (in Gapyeong-gun). There's still lots to do: step off the mainland to explore Nami Island, enjoy breathtaking views from Uiamho Sky Work, take in the dramatic scenery at Bidulginang Waterfalls, and sample the tasty concoctions at Traditional Liquor Museum Sansawon.

Traveling by car from Seoul to Chuncheon takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a subway. Expect a daytime high around 20°C in April, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Sun) so you can drive to Sokcho.

Tourism in Sokcho mostly revolves around the local national park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Explore Sokcho's surroundings by going to Inje-gun (Oseam Temple & Baekdamsa Temple), Gangneung (Tongil Park (Unification Park) & Gyeongpodae) and Yangyang-gun (Naksansa Temple & Osaek Jujeongol Valley). Spend the 1st (Mon) exploring nature at Seoraksan National Park. You can drive from Chuncheon to Sokcho in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Fri) so you can fly to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.

Venture out of the city with trips to Ulsan (Daewangam Park, Ulsan Theme Botanic Garden, &more) and Daegu (Kim Gwangseok Street, Donghwasa, &more). Traveling by flight from Sokcho to Gyeongju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In May, daytime highs in Gyeongju are 18°C, while nighttime lows are 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Thu) so you can drive to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.

Get out of town with these interesting Busan side-trips: Changwon (Masan Agu-jjim Street, Yeojwacheon Stream, &more). You can drive from Gyeongju to Busan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Gyeongju in May, you will find days in Busan are a bit warmer (28°C), and nights are about the same (16°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Tongyeong.

Get out of town with these interesting Tongyeong side-trips: Geoje (Gonggoji, Oedo Botania, &more), Gyeongsangnamdo Arboretum (in Jinju) and Namhae-gun (House N Garden & Namhae Pyeonbaek Recreational Forest). Spend the 21st (Sun) exploring nature at Hallyeohaesang National Park.

Traveling by car from Busan to Tongyeong takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. When traveling from Busan in May, plan for colder days in Tongyeong, with highs around 15°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) so you can travel to Hadong-gun.

Change things up with these side-trips from Hadong-gun: Gurye-gun (Hwaeomsa Temple & Saseongam Temple 四聖庵) and Jinju (Jinjuseong & Geumhoji). Spend the 24th (Wed) exploring nature at Jirisan National Park.

The Route module can help you plan travel from Hadong-gun to Andong. In May in Andong, expect temperatures between 18°C during the day and 18°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to fly to Jeju.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.

Traveling by flight from Andong to Jeju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. On the 13th (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can fly back home.
