Asan is a city in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. Get out of town with these interesting Asan side-trips: Cheonan (Gagwonsa Temple & The Independence Hall of Korea). Gongju, also spelt Kongju, is a city in South Chungcheong province, South Korea.HistoryGongju was formerly named Ungjin and was the capital of Baekje from AD 475 to 538. Kick off your visit on the 5th (Wed): contemplate the long history of Busosanseong Fortress, then examine the collection at Buyeo National Museum, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Buyeo Jeongnimsaji Temple. On the next day, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Magoksa Temple, then examine the collection at Gongju National Museum, and then make a trip to Gongju Gongsanseong Fortress.
